We are so glad you decided to “play store” at True North. Welcome to the family. We have a fantastic group, featuring some of the very best vendors in the Midwest… and now that includes you. Be proud of yourself!
The easiest way to become a part of the store is to spend time shopping True North. Be inspired, learn from others, don’t copy, and you’ll get the hang of it. We promise. Introduce yourself to other vendors; they may be your new best friend.
Take time and read through the Vendor Packet. Start pricing your items. Get ready to move in. Don’t stress about your new space. Have fun with it. Know that is takes multiple visits to get the space full, and even after that, it’s a continual process.
The top four tips we can give you is:
1- Price affordable: most items that sell are priced under $20.
2- Keep things changing: don’t let your booth get boring.
3- Restock often: customers want to find something new each visit.
4- Have a good attitude: you won’t retire off selling vintage, but it’s fun.
TN Philosophy about tagging items: When a customer sees an item with a hang tag, they see it as an item for sale. They can glance at the price without picking it up and move along. When the tags are on the bottom or back, the customer can easily envision it in their own home. They pick it up to see the price, then become emotionally invested in the item. This is just one of the TN sales tips in the packet. Price all items at a price that you’d pay for it. Price it to sell.
In your free time take a deep dive into the TN web site to learn more. There are many moving parts to this store, and the more you know, the better your experience.
We can’t wait to get to know you and shop your space!
